My background is in ancient history research and teaching. Since moving to Finistere a long time ago, I have concentrated on writing, with many published books and articles covering aspects of Breton history, landscape and legends. Recent work has been devoted to place-writing and creative texts on the same subjects.
Talks, courses and guided historical visits were part of it all until the need for freer writing time prevailed. Likewise with Brittany Walks (brittanywalks.com), which I founded in 2004. I have walked many thousands of kilometres in Brittany and written five walking guides.
My work has appeared in the UK national press and magazines, featured on French TV and been the subject of radio broadcasts here in Brittany.
I have worked with numerous Brittany-based organisations and associations on translations for exhibitions or projects to develop heritage information for anglophones. Many clients over many years include the Château de Combourg, Abbaye du Relec, Domaine de Trévarez, Manoir de Kernault, Comité régional du tourisme (Rennes) and the AIKB. Contributions in recent years have included the new Parish Close centre (CIAP) in Guimiliau, the Sentier des mémoires in Plounéour-Ménez and village trails in Locquenolé and Huelgoat.
